The Clerk’s Office is responsible for keeping and maintaining all official Village records.
The Village Clerk must be present at all village board meetings and records all activities and decisions made. She also prepares the monthly Abstract for board approval and issues checks for payment of those vouchers. She receives all communications to the Village by mail, e-mail, fax or phone and distributes them. She also serves as Records Management Officer and overseas all General Village Elections.
She processes Village Tax Searches from Abstract and Title Corporations along with requests from Attorney’s and Law Offices, the fee is $10.00 per tax search. The Village Clerk’s Office also issues Handicap Permits.
Applications for Building Permits, Planning Board, Zoning Board, Garage Sale, Park Pavilions and Vendor Permits can be picked up at the Clerk’s Office during regular business hours.
Heavy trash permits are sold at the Clerk’s Office for removal of large items such as stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, hot water tanks, chairs, couches, rugs, mattress and springs, items that do not fit in your green bag. The fee is $5.00 for each tag. Tagged items will be collected with your regular garbage on Monday or Tuesday.
Tire tags are also sold at the Clerk’s Office. Tires with rims cost $5.00 and tires without rims cost $4.00. These tagged tires can also be put out for collection with your regular garbage on Monday or Tuesday.
