Centennial

The Village of new York Mills has been in existence since 1922, and in this year 2022, will celebrate a milestone of 100 years as a community of rich heritage and a place where today’s modern opportunities meet yesterday’s traditions. New York Mills is dedicated to making its community a great place to live, work , play and conduct business. The Mayor, Ernie Talerico and the Centennial Committee are proud to announce a celebration of the Villages’ 100 years of existence.

On July 9th, from 5 pm to dusk a Centennial Celebration has been planned at Pulaski Park. There will be Food Trucks, The Utica Zoo Mobile, Shriner’s Ziyara Zanies Clowns, as well as live music performed by The Reuben James, Nick Vanderwood, and DJ Ryan Rys for all to enjoy. Feel free to bring a lawn chair so you may sit, relax, and enjoy dinner and the entertainment of the evening.

In conjunction with the Village wide garage sales this day, Crafters will be showcasing their talents for purchase starting at 10:00am and will be available throughout the celebration events at Pulaski Park. There will also be an Open House at The New York Mills Historical Society at 96 Main Street from 12 to 3.

To top the evening off, an amazing display of fireworks will end the night of pride and celebration for the Village of New York Mills.

In addition to many events planned, Mayor Talerico and the Centennial Committee have been working on establishing a Centennial Park located across the street from the NY Mills Fire Department to commemorate this milestone in the history of New York Mills.
